Welcome to the official phpCMS website

phpCMS is a content management system, which is characterized by simple system requirements, high performance, and, above all, flexibility.

phpCMS is suitable for small, private websites, as well as complex, high traffic websites including the integration of web services and external applications.

Admittedly - the flexibility of phpCMS makes life not always easy for HTML-beginners. But experienced web designers, who want to create an unique website rather than clicking inflexible template blocks together, will find in phpCMS a tool which gives them all the freedom they need to support their creativity. This might be a reason why several web design companies are using phpCMS to create their own companies’ website.

But one of the best features of phpCMS is that it is Open Source (licensed under the GPL) and is available free of any charges - a CMS can not be more cost-efficient.

If you want to learn more about phpCMS, you will hopefully find all necessary information on this website. In particular the menu option "About phpCMS" contains an overview over phpCMS and its features. For further questions please feel free to use our support forum.

xx Contribute to the phpCMS project!

Contribute to the phpCMS project!

phpCMS is a non-commercial project, licensed under the GNU Public License - which means that we, the phpCMS team, are spending a lot of time for phpCMS, just because it's fun and we like to create something useful for the community.

But you - the users - can help as well to improve phpCMS. In the last few months our documentation team did a great job to create a very useful phpCMS documentation. But even though a big part of the work is done, there's still a lot to do. And that's what we need you for! Please contribute to the phpCMS project  by helping us and the other users to improve the phpCMS documentation.

As we use a Wiki for the documentation, everybody can contribute and add new information to the documentation.
A good starting point is the Documentation Wiki Community portal which can be found at

The nice thing on a Wiki is, that you can't do anything wrong. Every modification can be undone, so you should not be afraid of making mistakes.

Also feedback on bugs, feature requests, or self-written patches, plugins or templates made available to other user are welcome.
On the right-hand side of each page you find a box with the caption "phpCMS@SF" with direct links to pages at SourceForge where you can report bugs, publish your patches or feature requests and much more.

Via the menu at the top of each page you can go to the phpCMS link list. There you can add links to your phpCMS-powered web sites to show other users what phpCMS is capable to do. There are also special sections in the link list for links to phpCMS-related services you may offer  (e.g. web design based on phpCMS) or to your site if it contains additional phpCMS-related material ...
